About Me

My name is Kelsey Nell and I am so excited to be back at Northwestern for my second school year!

I was born and raised on my family's grain and livestock farm in rural White Hall. Following my high school graduation, I completed my Bachelor's in Social Work at Western Illinois University.

Pursuing my lifelong goal of traveling the world, I have visited nearly 50 countries to date. This goal was, in part, able to be achieved through my former careers as a vacation planner with Walt Disney World and a flight attendant for both Spirit Airlines and Emirates Airlines.

Adventure is my passion! Whether it is bungee jumping off the Auckland Bridge, running a marathon, skydiving, visiting a city for the first time, or summiting Mount Kilimanjaro; I am always eager to try something new.
The most recent item I was able to check off my bucket list was completing my Masters in Counseling degree at Northern Illinois University in May of 2018. While at NIU, I worked as a student conduct administrator and instructed an undergraduate course on career exploration.

I have loved my travels, but I am thrilled to be planting my roots in Central Illinois! My husband, Casey, our son, Dawson, and I reside in White Hall and enjoy spending time with our 22 nieces and nephews.

What is your passion? What are your goals? As a school counselor, I am here to help Northwestern students identify, develop, and achieve their own academic, career, and social/emotional goals. I so look forward to meeting you all!
